A free service, available for use on any website that is free to consumers. It enables you to embed Google Maps in your web pages and includes a number of services for customizing and adding content to the map (see below). The Google Places API enables location based mobile applications to search for business
listings and points of interest nearby. Search results are optimized for the places
frequented by users of each application. Applications can also add new places which are
immediately reflected in subsequent searches.

Monetize your site with AdSense for the Google Maps API. The Maps Ad Unit overlays a set of AdSense ads on the map, in any of the supported formats. You can control where on the map the ads are placed, and the ads shown are based on the current map location. It is a simple way to monetize your maps with non-intrusive and relevant advertising.
